The US's First Otome Game!

Anybody who likes otome games has typed "Otome games in English" into Google at one point or another. The results are always disappointing... until now.

On February 15th, 2011, otome game lovers will finally be able to buy one of the US's first girl games: Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom (Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan) for the PSP. Okay, it's not the first, but it is one of the first. The game will be UMD format in a limited or regular version. This is probably going to be way better than the girl versions of Harvest Moon.
In Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom, a young woman by the name of Chizuru comes to Kyoto in search of her missing father, and soon encounters danger and the Shinsengumi in quick succession. When it becomes clear the Shinsengumi are also searching for her father, Chizuru is put under their protection. But odd things are afoot in Kyoto-possibly even supernatural happenings. Can Chizuru navigate this maze of mortal danger and political intrigue? Amidst so much mystery and death, can she find romance?-- From Amazon.com

The limited edition version ($39.99+Shipping on Amazon.com) comes with the full soundtrack, the game (of course), and a full color art book filled with beautiful art five bishounen for you to fawn over. According to Amazon, the regular version is also $39.99, so I'd just spring for the limited version.

I'm not sure if I'm going to buy this game, but I'm really tempted to. I'm going to be buying a PSP soon, and this would be an excellent starter for my collection! If I eventually cave in and buy it, I'll be sure to give a review of it.

  1. hi, i'm a big fan of the game but i'd like to ask the source of that image. i've already finished saito's route (and completed his CG as well) but i haven't seen that image in the game o_o i also get to see some other image scenes with okita, harada, and kazama posted all over the net. are those images from another hakuouki game or are they unlockable images? thanks! :)

    1. I believe this is from a different Hakuouki game. So far, I haven't come across this image in Demon of the Fleeting Blossom after finishing 3 1/2 different routes. :/
